Write for the guide

Every field note is written by someone who knows the music first-hand. If you grew up on fanzines and tape trades, played the clubs, ran a label or a radio show, or just can’t stop arguing about who influenced whom, we’d like to hear from you.

• Write field notes: two or three sentences on why a band matters.
• Take on deep dives: album reviews, the story, the records to start with.
• Lead a family: look after a branch of the tree and its bands.
• Every piece carries your name and links to your contributor page.
